Stone Named Among Heroes of 2006 by National Geographic Adventure
November 15, 2006 - Seaspan
By POLITA GLYNN

National Geographic Adventure will recognize Pew Fellow Greg Stone, Vice President for Global Marine Programs at the New England Aquarium, with its Adventurers of the Year award. The honorees are described as people who dared to dream big.

Stone is being recognized for his leadership in the effort to create the third largest sanctuary for marine wildlife on the planet with the Pacific Island nation of Kiribati. The December issue of the magazine said that Stone's effort "wasn't just a triumph of conservation, it was an expression of one man's passion."
